Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and LYNQO and govern your access to and use of the LYNQO mobile application and related services ("LYNQO" or the "Service"). Please read them carefully. They include our Community Guidelines, which set clear rules for content and behaviour.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using LYNQO, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use LYNQO. If you use LYNQO on behalf of any other person, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for them.

2. Eligibility

To use LYNQO, you must:

Unverified users may browse limited content but cannot fully participate until verification is complete. LYNQO is intended for users in Australia, beginning in the Brisbane region, and may expand to additional campuses over time.

3. Your Account and Verification

4. How LYNQO Works: Consent and Safety Model

LYNQO is a social discovery app for verified university students. It combines a content community (topic-based posts and comments) with a consent-based matching layer. The core interaction model is: content → express interest → mutual consent → chat.

5. Acceptable Use and Community Guidelines

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on LYNQO. Content or conduct that violates these Community Guidelines may be removed, and the responsible account may be suspended or permanently banned, without notice.

You agree that you will not post, send, share, or engage in any of the following:

You are solely responsible for the content you create and the way you behave on LYNQO. We may remove content and take action on accounts to protect users and the community.

6. Moderation and Enforcement

We take safety seriously and act quickly on objectionable content and abusive users. Specifically:

To report content or a user, use the report option available on any post, comment, profile, or chat, or contact support@lynqoapp.com.

7. Your Content and Licence

You retain ownership of the content you create on LYNQO ("User Content"). By posting or sharing User Content, you grant LYNQO a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content solely as needed to operate, provide, secure, moderate, and improve the Service. This licence ends when your User Content is deleted, except for content that has been shared with others, or that we must retain for safety, security, or legal reasons.

You represent that you have the rights necessary to post your User Content and that it does not violate these Terms or the rights of others. LYNQO does not claim ownership of your User Content.

8. Termination

You may stop using LYNQO at any time and may delete your account in the app from Settings, then Delete account. We may suspend or terminate your access, remove content, or limit features at any time if you violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines, if required for safety or legal reasons, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including content licences already granted to others, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.

9. Disclaimers

LYNQO is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that verification or moderation will catch every violation. You are responsible for your interactions with other users. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LYNQO and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law. These limits do not affect rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland, Australia, without affecting any consumer rights you have under applicable law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and provide notice when appropriate. Your continued use of LYNQO after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Additional Terms (Apple Standard EULA)

If you download LYNQO from the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies as a minimum set of terms. Where these Terms provide greater protection for users or the community, these Terms apply in addition to the Apple Standard EULA.

14. Contact

For questions about these Terms, to report content, or for support, contact LYNQO at support@lynqoapp.com.
